The Airfoil Motorised Smoke Damper (MSD) is an Australian-made and designed solution engineered to control and contain smoke within HVAC systems during fire events. Built from high-strength extruded aluminium, it prevents smoke spread through ductwork, protecting occupants and aiding safe evacuation. Its interlocking aluminium blades with heat-activated silicone seals ensure a tight, low-leakage barrier, while the internal linkage system delivers smooth, reliable operation.
All blades are mechanically linked for synchronised movement, operated via a single motor drive shaft. The damper’s high-temperature perimeter seals, flanged mounting edges, and modular design ensure durability, easy installation, and compliance with Australian Standards AS1530.7:2007 and AS1682.1:2015. Combining robust construction with proven performance, the Airfoil MSD provides dependable fire and smoke safety for commercial, industrial, and public buildings.
